As one of South Africa’s  renowned golfing destinations, George offers around 10 golf courses, driving ranges and a world class golf academy. These courses include the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate, Oubaai Golf Estate and the George Golf Club.  Popular annual events include the George Old Car Show, George Cheese Festival, and the George NBM Sevens Premier League.

George is the main business centre of the Garden Route and offers excellent conference facilities, businesses, shopping centres, an airport and sporting facilities.
